My name is David Champagne and I am a Virginia Beach wedding photographer who specializes in Virginia Beach Wedding Photography, Hampton Roads Wedding Photography, Richmond Wedding Photography, and Destination Wedding Photography worldwide. I have photographed weddings full time since 2006, and at last count, I have photographed 415+ weddings – so, yes, I absolutely love what I do! I am so honored to have been named one of the top wedding photographers in Virginia when I was inducted into the Knot Hall of Fame after being award the Knot Best of Weddings in 2010, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. I have also been honored with the Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice Award for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. My work is featured in numerous bridal magazines and boutique wedding blogs and my destination weddings have taken me to County Mayo, Ireland; Key West, Florida (twice); Mammoth Lakes, California; San Francisco, California; Atoka, Oklahoma; Charleston, South Carolina; New York; and Annapolis, Maryland.

MY APPROACH:
The happiness I get from wedding photography comes not only from creating beautiful works of art, but also from contributing to the lives of others and experiencing their joy when they see their photographs.
I don’t want my brides and grooms to have to pick and choose which part of their day is important because I believe the entire day is important. That is why all of my packages include 10 hours of coverage. I begin capturing images when you start getting ready and end when you leave your reception. Years from now, when you look back over your pictures, you’ll be able to relive your entire day!
My story begins at a very early age. I have been taking pictures and creating art my whole life. At my own wedding, while working with our wedding photographer, I discovered that I could take my passion for photography and turn that into a business and my life has never been the same!

I was born in Australia to a Marine Corps family while we were stationed there and I have lived all over the United States.
In high school, I was a part of the marching band (half-time is game-time!), and loved every minute. I eventually went on to perform with the Division I Drum Corps, the Crossmen, for three years (2002 – 2004). I had such a wonderful experience during my Drum Corps years; I made some life-long friends and had some awesome moments performing in front of crowds of over forty thousand people!
In June of 2006, I married my middle school sweetheart, Jodi. We actually met in the sixth grade in San Diego when we shared the same desk but we were in that classroom at different times of the day. We would leave notes for each other in our shared desk everyday. By the end of middle school we were best friends. We eventually went to college together at James Madison University and San Diego State University.
Jodi and I had our son, James, in 2011. We could not be happier – I was made to be a Daddy!
Our decision to relocate to Virginia Beach came after Jodi’s mother passed away from ovarian cancer in September of 2011 in San Diego. Most of our family lives in the Virginia Beach area and we would like our son to grow up around his family.
Jodi is an avid scrapbooker and I enjoy gardening, baking, and Crossfit.
